Brute XD Lock Instruction Supplement

This safe is heavy at 23 lbs. Heavy to carry, but also heavy to steal. When traveling on the road this is the safe I use to and from the car to the hotel room. This will be my third Brute; my first with the new interior lock cove. This will be my new in-car safe.
Gunnar P K –
Very heavy-duty. Very impressed. Looks like it will outlast me and my son when I pass it down to him.
Kevin H (verified owner) –
I was surprised at the weight and quality I feel 100 percent better than the thin metal one it replaces.

The Brute XD is easily the highest quality quick access hand gun safe on the market. Nobody is getting into one of these without destroying what’s on the inside. There is nothing not to love about it. No electronics to fail, no prying or smashing it open, no lock that can be picked. Worth every penny!

Just got my V-Line Brute safe and I’m really impressed. The build quality is excellent, it feels rock solid with thick, heavy-duty steel construction. The weight alone gives you confidence that this thing isn’t going anywhere easily. I really wanted a mechanical lock so this fit the bill nicely. Opening and closing it feels smooth and secure.
If you’re looking for a heavy, no-nonsense safe with a clean mechanical design, I highly recommend this one! Just buy it!

The Brute handgun safe exceeded my expectations for quality of build and ease of use. Would take a lot of effort to break into it, and the combination is easy to change to something unique. Quick shipping, well packaged, and good communication from V-Line as well. Happy with the product and no regrets.
Kimberly S (verified owner) –
Extremely well constructed. More than I imagined possible in such a small safe. I love it and now I want the Slide-Away or Hide-Away. It was important to me to be American made and after researching, I decided no electronics was best for me. This will never fail me. Very happy with my purchase.

Solid and beautiful safe. Its build is even better in person than on the site. The paint coating is even super impressive. I easily updated the lock and installed it. My one suggestion would be to use a little bit of Velcro with the pieces of foam near the top of the lock. That way you don’t tear it every time you want to update the code. But that’s not enough to knock it a point. It’s a great safe so far.

This is the best pistol safe there is. At first, I was going to get one of the simpler models but I realized this one has everything perfected. It’s very sturdy and easy to use. The simplex lock works reliably and quickly every time. I got this after purchasing the tactical closet vault for another room in my house, which is an excellent product as well. I’m very satisfied with this safe, but I wish mounting bolts were included so that’s the only improvement that could be made.
Justin (verified owner) –
An incredibly well built and very robust USA made safe. It has a great lock mechanism that is both secure and easy to access—trustworthy to have in a household with young kids. My only feedback is that the foam should be attached to the case via velcro. In order to access the lock/bolts on the inside of the case, you have to pull the foam back, which can cause it to tear. Foam can be easily reattached using a low temperature hot glue, but having to repair the foam whenever you change the lock combo or tighten it is a negative.

Overbuilt and made in USA. The quality and simplicity of this safe is unmatched. Very happy with my purchase.
Jack Xander (verified owner) –
This is my second V-Line safe. I really like the fact that they have mechanical locks; no batteries! It feels very robust and high quality. I feel like my handgun is safe.
Larry F –
Second purchase of one; BRUTE XD is built like a tank. Still using the first one I bought over a decade ago. Completely trouble-free use with zero maintenance. No batteries required for the lock. The mechanical lock has never failed during my 10+ years of use.
Larry F –
This is the second BRUTE model I’ve bought. Still using the first one after a trouble-free decade of weekly (sometimes, daily) use. The Simplex mechanical lock requires no batteries and has never given me a problem; it’s as close to maintenance free as possible (no lube recommended). For this size and type safe, it is top notch. When installed according to recommendations, it obviously provides the best safety and security possible for this size gun safe. Very strong with flexible combination options available providing for quick access. An excellent overall value.
Rob (verified owner) –
Heavy duty and easy to set the simplex lock. Works great for securely storing my handgun and magazines.
Alexander Estrin (verified owner) –
High quality construction. Looks badass and feels solid! The Simplex lock mechanism works great. Shipping was quick too.
Mark S. –
Very heavy, quality materials and goof proof as well!! I managed to screw up the configuration procedure and entered a combo that I could not recall. Used the videos on their websites and the problem was quickly resolved. Very nice. Thanks!
George (verified owner) –
Safe is really solid. Heavy and strong. The simplex just works. Very satisfied with this product.
Jimmy Zhou (verified owner) –
Quality build, solid materials, heavy, and pricy. This thing seems indestructible. I liked it as I prefer simplicity. Wish it had predrilled holes for cable locks.
Branden (verified owner) –
I’m very pleased with this product. It arrived fairly quickly after ordering. I think this is one of the best pistol safes around. I didn’t want something that could be susceptible to a battery failure in this checks all the boxes!
Tim (verified owner) –
I live in NYC, so they require us to keep our ammo separate from our guns. This safe is perfect for storing you a gun or two, but in my case, ammo. It is very heavy-duty and the lock is simple to use and program. Very happy with my purchase.
Mike Holder –
I have a V-Line case already and just added the Brute XD for my office. Very solidly built and simple operation to open. I am very happy with V-Line’s communication (thanks Michele Bennett) and with this USA made purchase. If you’re looking to store a couple of handguns, I can’t recommend enough.
David M –
I’ve had the brute safe for 4 years now. Its still tough, mechanism is still flawless, and USA made means I can rely on its dependability for a lifetime. I know my safe will be reliable in the time of need. This thing is built tough no joke.
Elvin Cortez –
just got it and it is has durable has advertised. the lock combination was easy to set up. nice and heavy and the lock combination set up is a bit different but effective. im glad i bought it.
Matt M (verified owner) –
Tons of research led me to this safe. I read all the reviews and wanted to make sure I went with a USA made safe. I even called and spoke with this company before ordering, and they were extremely helpful. I’ve already told 2 friends who have both placed orders with V-Line.

Spent countless days searching for the perfect first safe. With the safe now in hand it has exceeded my expectation. It is really well built, super sleek, heavy and seems unbreakable and hydraulic open is an added bonus. Love the simplex lock mechanism. Very excited to put this safe to use for a long time to come.
Russell G –
Great product. Construction, fit, and finish is outstanding. Researched many different hand gun safes, and glad I went with this one. Ease of use and simplex lock up is a plus.
